Button Description Story

I used to be part of something; I used to be someone, but then I was lost. It all began when Mrs.Grannysmith placed me on the windowsill. I was special to her because my eyes were easier to see than the rest of us. It was that fateful day when she knocked me off the windowsill; I still do not know what happened. Mrs.Grannysmith tried to grab all of us but ended up spilling us, which led to me falling down into the forest below.
It seemed like decades before someone picked me up, but then I realized it was something else. An owl had thought I was its child; it must have been the facial characteristics that looked like fur. The owl brought me to its own nest and left me stranded for a little while. It felt like forever when finally he came back. Something was in his mouth, a dead mouse. He placed it down and seemed to want me to do something for him. I could not tell him I did not have a mouth. Then suddenly he grabbed me and went over to the side of the nest. It seemed that he wanted me to fly, but there was so much pressure on me that I could not escape before he let go. I fell even farther into the forest.
I woke up on something soft. It was a gold flower. I tried to get up, but I was injured from the owl’s impact. Then I heard something, a man, I think. He stood above me looking down. I tried to get his attention, but my outside blended in with the flowers, making me look like a pedal itself. The man walked away and left me. Soon it would be dark, and I would not know what to do with myself. I lost the only home I had; it was all over for me. That is when I saw the light as a hand picked me up and carried me back home. Mrs. Grannysmith had found me at last.
